Optical Illusion / Light / Perception

The work 'Looking Through & Up' plays and reflects on the themes of perception, optical illusion, and light; conceived through the limitless materiality of clouds. The series was inspired by artists Uta Barth and Rinko Kawauchi. Both Barth and Kawauchi explore this impression of visual perceptions and boundlessness, within the scope of "vision, time, stillness and light [which] are the elements" that run through their works (Barth, 2007).

The series of 6 pairs of photographs demonstrates a balance between light, clouds and optical interference, summoning all kinds of emotions and memories, as written through the boundless and limited power of an eye's perception.
