'Chasing the Emphemeral'
Obscured Vision / Narrative

Titled 'Chasing the Ephemeral', this series of ten photographs unravel the dreamscape and boundless notion of memory as conveyed by human perception, time and place. This carried notion of capturing the transcendent form of memory led me to explore this narrative through the framework of blurred, ghostly and obscured vision. The series adopted the parameters of long shutter speeds, white walls, and keepsake articles' of subject matter to capture this ambiguous presence.
The title encapsulates and touches on this theme, as 'chasing' refers to the fleeting sense of memory and how our human perception constantly evolves and transforms. At the same time, 'ephemeral' evokes this poetic, transcendental dimension and alludes to the metaphysical and boundless passage of the passing of time. The faint, blurred and vague silhouette beckons to be retrieved from the depth of your subconscious, as the photographs invite the viewer to gaze within the fragmented imagery and place their own interpretation and recollection upon it.
